RIP

The Captain was never one of my favourites, too discordant and complicated for my tastes. John Peel championed him but even so I did not understand what (or where) he was at.

I think his passing makes me sad because its another part of my youth gone. The same occurred, but far far worse, when John Peel died. I had not listened to his music for years but it was good to know it was still there.

The angels harps will sound different from now on, with both Beefheart and Zappa in charge of music in heaven
