Daddy's Home!

And he's not getting allowed out on his own again until the New Year.

Spent another anxious morning checking web sites and forecasts. I think I watched every plane leaving Germany before I noticed that my plane, the one I was praying would take off, showed boarding. Thought it was a joke. Even got a text from the Daddio saying he was sitting on the plane in a seat and they surely wouldn't be so cruel as to abandon the flight now. Still wasn't convinced. More checking, plane showing delay but firm arrival time in Newcastle. No more texts from the main man. And so it came to pass that he should touch down, fttingly in his birth place, the North East.

The reception at home would challenge the aching back of many an aged father. My girl leapt on him and he smiled, my boy ran at him and he staggered back but kept smiling. Everyone's joy was immense and delightful.

Got lots of jobs for him to do tomorrow when he is relaxed enough to need to work through his frustrations - delayed reaction is his nature.

Our thoughts now are with his 'new pals' from the airport. We do hope they get home soon, and any weary passenger.

Home is certainly where the heart is. Welcome home my No. 1 Boy.
