Man Overboard
Will he, won't he?
In the nick of time I persuaded him not to jump. We only have another three whole days at sea before we reach Antigua and we haven't resorted to violence yet, so hopefully we can hold it together until then.
Last night we met the captain, but not at his table. We obviously haven't the right credentials for that, but we did get a glass of champagne along with about 300 other passengers. There were no nibbles or shaking of hands, so paranoid are the authorities about the norovirus.
But we mingled and talked to some kilties. Now a kilt ensemble would have been a good alternative to the dinner jacket and the missing white evening jacket from his Lordship's cruise wardrobe.
I'm hopeful that with our daily gym visits, our self disciplined paucity of diet and our lecture attendance we will emerge from this cruise, slimmer, fitter and more educated than when we began.
We have not yet succumbed to lying on deck sunbathing, though in light of what may lie ahead weatherwise when we return to the UK, that might be our biggest mistake.
