Playing in the snow

Wow, I can't believe how much I miss my daily blipping, seeing everyone's journals and talking with people here. But...I'm getting through it and the end of this busy time is in sight.

This morning I took a break from the mad rush to go out and look for birds in the snow for a local Christmas bird count. It was so pretty. Big flakes fell silently covering the trees in the park.

I found a few birds and I enjoyed watching crows gossip, a bright red cardinal flitting among the evergreens and a mourning dove whirling in an arc across the sky showing off his flying prowess.

And then I went out to the mall with gazillions of other procrastinators who have put off their present buying to the last minute. More of that tomorrow. Yikes!
