... A Katiemoo!

We had an early start to the day, Katie was very pleased when she realised Granny and Grandad were there to share it. It was rather lovely as Katie got up and then snuggled into me for a while, just watching the Christmas lights - exactly what she did this time last year!

After G & G had gone (which Katie was rather sad at), we packed up and headed off to get Uncle Simon from university, across the Penines. We were very fortunate, whilst there had obviously been lots of snowfall, we didnt get any at all as we were driving, we had no hold ups or anything. We did have a little tour of the city centre as my directions were a tad unhelpful.

Katie was a touch unsure at first, she hasnt seen her uncle since her birthday, but as soon as he put a tie round his head, made her fly and sang daft songs, a light of recognition came across Katies face, and she beamed away.

On the journey home we stopped at Ikea to break it up. Uncle Simon thought Katie would like a roll around in the sheepskin rugs - she did. He also thought she'd like to try their wide range of strange childrens hats - she did. And she definitely enjoyed a stop in the coffee shop, although was only interested in the satsuma, not the cake!

When we got home, Uncle Simon (a chef) did our tea and Katie LOVED it. She had roast onion and cheddar quiche, with a side of grilled aubergine with goats cheese and tomato, all served with new potatoes and green veg. She thoroughly enjoyed it. At bedtime, I went to run her bath, she wanted to come with me, so I said 'go give Uncle Simon a kiss then', and she ran over and gave him a huge love and "disgusting foody" kiss! (think he was pleased really)
