Ernie's Garden

BIG is, of course, better!!

C&R snr offered to help Ernie with his garden, he actually asked them for some ideas and they said they'll do it for him. In this picture you can actually see how much he likes what he saw when he got home from a business meeting today! All of it was a complete surprise, he allowed the two of them to use their own initiative!

This is the focal point of his front yard, there were zillions of 'Hen-and-chickens' - Chlorophytum comosum (Please pardon the Afrikaans article, but I saw lóts of sites, but not one with pictures exactly like what I wanted to show you!), planted in this flowerbed and they looked só untidy! He really wanted somtehing special to happen there!

C&R made a plan, they bought this cycad and the lovely pot, and R decided there must not be anything else growing there, the cycad must be the focal point, and therefore, the clay tiles and pebblestones must be the only decoration there!

I think it looks quite snazzy and Ernie is more than satifsied with the result! The rest of the garden is still in planning! They planted lovely pom-poms in a straight line along the righthand gardenwall, with lillies and other flowers. On Monday they will plant a big tree next to the paving, and they already planted little trees in a few pots all over the front porch! I will blip all that as soon as it grows and the flowers are in full bloom! ;-)

Their next project will be the sidewalk outside the main entrance to the complex!! Really looking forward to making it beautiful!
