is something on fire?

the significance of this picture lies in the fact that i thought the city of houston was on fire somewhere because i didn't recognize the moon in all of its glory.
seriously. it was giant and perilously close to the city.
i've never seen something like this; it actually scared me until i realized that it was, indeed, the moon.
so i wanted to remember it.. as i saw it from my airplane window.
