She's a Little Cracker

Up and out early. We girls are having our hair cut today. My hairdresser left me in August to go live in Australia so I was anxious about my trip. No need, Jay, the new boy - who looked somewhat like Russell Brand but not so mad, did a fine job. Lots of texture and shape. Just how I like it. My no.1 boy is away and by the time he returns he won't even notice.

I was determined to finish my shopping and had much success. I saw some odd things though, and this is one. This is the Harvey Nicolls display, fantastic really. It looks like something out of Dr Who and the music was akin to Japanese phonetic carols in Pinky and Perky voices. Sat against the backdrop of some of Edinburgh's finest Georgian buildings and banks this was quite surreal. So was the 'Mr Snow' Robot in the park who occasionally sprayed out fake snow from his 4 foot arms. I wanted to shout 'We've had enough thanks', but people would have stared.

I missed a call from dad when I was out, when I phoned, mum had no idea why he had called. Got home to 2 messages from him so he obviously really wanted to talk to me. I hope he has forgotten why and its not playing on his mind. This year we can't even pretend that dad has got mum a christmas present. That is so sad because like all girls she loves being spoilt and pampered by the man she loves.

My girl has had her hair cut too. Beautiful. I was going to do a swish blip with some scissor sisters ta dah attached - but I got bored waiting.

Instead I changed the bed and now can't wait to get into the fresh clean sheets, heated to the correct degree and snuggle down with a book. After the tea, ski lessons, bit of work etc etc. But I'm holding on to that thought.
