Sunset

by the harbor, I stand
watching the sun slowly set
beautiful shades
of blue, orange, red, pink
paints the sky
motionless I stand
with my camera clicking
people and noises surround me
but i am still
becoming part of everyone else

i look and see tiny specks
moving across the sky
it seems clear to me
that the birds are flying in unison
flying as one
but when my camera zooms in
and captures them mid-flight
the closer look reveals
each one's individuality

and then suddenly
i'm free and existing again
it's going to be alright
