Sputnik Crystals

First of all, I took this from a distance as a huge drift of snow made it difficult to get closer, and I think there is only a small part in focus (on the right) . I was struggling to know what to photograph as I was stuck at work again at lunch time and am getting bored with all the snow pictures. It's not going to thaw anytime soon either, it was -11 at lunchtime. Baltic!

These weeds growing at the waterside have been transformed into objects of beauty, with the extreme cold, the snow particles with the sun shining on them made the weeds look like they are covered in thousands of tiny crystals! What was interesting was the background looks blue! It's the cold.

There are lots of major travel problems going on in Scotland at the momentt due to the heavy snowfalls and low temperatures. Hundreds of people have been stranded on motorways overnight in sub-zero temperatures. Lets hope it's all resolved soon and the country get get back to work again.
