switching on the lights
As MrSparky was using the 4wheel-drive today, I went to school by bus, it's very convenient, apart from a little slip on the ice.
The school Christmas trees were put up last week, but because of the snow, they weren't decorated, until today. The EAL teacher and her group of (mostly) Slovakian pupils helped the Head teacher to decorate the tree in the hall. Its a shame I can't blip the faces of the children who were thrilled at the honour of decorating the tree, most of the rest of the children in school are not christian and don't celebrate christmas so it doesn't mean as much to them.
At lunchtime I had some external coaches in school to work with children with additional needs they did some paired work with blindfolds, it was fun. And in the afternoon some students came to coach a lesson. It might seem as if I don;t actually teach myself !!!
I caught the bus home, but stopped in town to buy some christmas presents and a card for a colleague who is getting married soon, Sheffield city centre is buzzing, there's a night time Christmas market and lights everywhere, might blip that another night :)
The buses were very busy, 'move right down the bus' and a bit of a struggle to get off. I was 6 houses from home when I slipped on the ice and landed on my bum. I screamed and 2 students stopped to help me. after sympathising with me for a bit they offered to pick me up, which they did; literally!!! they hoiked me up and put me on my feet, thank goodness for strong young men!!!
Tonight I've been watching the Street. MrSparky has gone to decorate the IOM house, so I'm in charge, or is it DS? or DD? who knows!!
