Crafts again
This is my prep for tots this coming Tuesday. I have trialled it on Ben, because as I'll be kind of supervising it on Tuesday, he probably won't get a chance to do any sticking then unless another kind mum sits with him and stops him sticking himself to the table or something.
We're enjoying opening his Advent Socks, I'm only filling them one day in advance at the moment, basing the contents on what I hope we might get up to that day. This morning as we left for Church I snuck a christmas tree and a star in as well as a couple of chocolates. He wasn't very interested in the shapes until I said, shall we do some sticking? And he leapt up and picked the shapes up off the floor where he'd discarded them disdainfully a few seconds earlier and climbed up onto a chair at the table all expectantly. I couldn't get the bits out fast enough and trying to take a picture of him - well let's just say I had quite a bit of unpeeling and lots of picking up to do once the shoot was done. He did make a pretty picture. His is the one with the snowman in it. It had lots of stars and some glittery squares. He did a bit of colouring as well but he still tends to go a bit mad when he's got a pen in his hand. Anyway, I now have a few examples to take with me on Tuesday of the type of Christmas Pictures they could make if they wanted!
In other news, I actually managed to leave Ben in crèche this morning!! It's only taken us OVER TWO YEARS to get to this stage. Apparently there were a few tears but by the time I'd been got and had gone to rescue, the tears had stopped and he didn't bat an eyelid when I picked him up at the end. Well done Ben! He's growing up rather fast at the moment. Really discovering his independence, all this attachment seems to be finally paying off.
And finally - I blipped quite late last night, but if you didn't see it, I went pottery painting and have painted a couple of tiles. I'm really really pleased with them - I just hope that once they're glazed and fired they'll still look as good!
