The New Topographics

Tonight was my last lecture in the Seeing Photography course at Stills.

Tonight Sophie Gerrard guided us through The New Topographics exhibition of 1975 right up to the magnificent Ed Burtynsky's Manufacturing #18, Cankun Factory, Zhangzhou. Try and have a look at her site - lots of great stories.

The Guardian described The New Topographics as the photography that found beauty in the banal.

So here is my tribute to the banal 'man altered landscape' of the New Topographers.
