A delightful if somewhat slippery cycle into work this morning. I love the 'sparkling diamonds' that get thrown from the front tyre in the beam of your lights when you cycle on snow in the winter. I have to remind myself to look up now and then and not get too carried away by the light show!

Incredibly busy at work today as the people of Edinburgh hit the streets to do their christmas shopping.

Today's photo was taken at the foreign market in Castle Street where this man was busy cooking over four enormous pans. The people really get into the atmosphere of the market and it reminds me of many happy days spent in sunnier climes.
