The one where she gets enough sleep for a change..
She crawls/falls into bed around 8:30 pm. She could have gone to sleep earlier but she was really trying to sleep through the night so she knew better. She got under the heavy blankets and the fresh blue and green polka dotted sheets. The sheets are not her idea of style, but were amazingly priced at $3.50 for the complete set, and that is madness and she needed new sheets. She closes her eyes and bam! She is gone, sinking far away under all the layers, all the thoughts, deeper deeper down heavy weighted sleep. She doesn't remember moving and the dreams have left no trace. She opens her eyes in the dark and checks the time. It is now 5:30 in the morning- success she thinks! Nine long hours of solid uninterrupted sleep, this should help with the 2.5 hours she got the night before. She doesn't like that uneasy feeling that comes from too little sleep. The heightened awareness, the skin prickles, palpitations and anxiety. Her muscles tighten in remembrance, her jaw line becomes stone.
Not today, we won't have that today...
She drinks a big bowl of warm relaxing tea, tension tamer is the name in fact. She is determined to start off the day, loose as a goose. She eats whole wheat toast and jam. Her left index finger might have a bit of jam on it still, as the S key seems a bit sticky. Figures.
Today, is the last day of her show (my show- we all know who is she talking about here). She plans on spending some more time with it, to view it one last time the way it is intended, all together and well lit, filling the space perfectly. Then she will take a couple of pieces down a bit early and box them up, sending them on their merry way to the east coast for the exhibition that starts next week. She is cutting it close, but she isn't worried- it will work out. It always does.
She thinks she may visit the juke box bar tonight, not for writing but perhaps just for some fun.
Everything is wide open. She is free...
