The City is Wild.....

....by Owen Richards, aged 9.5 years.

Tigers and monkeys, none of that!
Habitat for foxes and seagulls, not natural at all
Everywhere smelly traffic and scary buildings

"Cliffs!" the seagulls think and the rock doves think so too
In the menacing metal mesh the pigeons make their nests
The foxes and seagulls don't hunt their metropolitan prey,
yanking their skin they SLICE open the helpless bin bag, devouring their insides!

Is it natural for the animals to live this way?
Should people over-fish the sea?

Woodland has fallen under the human AXE.
If we were them then we'd find life HARD.
LIFE of animal is connected with LIFE of man
DESTROYING their planet is DESTROYING ours!

Well done son, we were bursting with pride when you went up to collect your prize and Mum had a wee tear in her eye too.

Great night, with the first snow falling outside and a treat trip for Owen and his classmate Magnus to Pizza Express (Magnus had been short-listed too). I was really touched when Owen's teacher turned up with her husband to see her pupils. She's made a massive difference to his enjoyment of learning this year.

See here for an explanation.
