The First Snow of Winter......

....we arrived at the City Library this evening, invited with 19 other Edinburgh primary school children and families for the award ceremony. Over 1000 young poets had entered, so we were incredibly proud that his work had made it this far. The cooncil put on a grand show with proper award ceremony theatricals in the superb Carnegie-built library setting.

We listened with great enjoyment to some of the entries read by bright young things, the hugely entertaining Ryan van Winkle and a couple of city dignitaries and then the big announcement of the overall winner, "....and, the Green Pencil Young Poet for 2010 is".........
