View through a hole

Following on from tomorrows doh, yesterdays blip, there is a thing that I pass most days that needed further investigation.

This, it turns out is a fuel tank (and that sky is straight out of the camera), one of two that are on an old WWII airbase which I drive along every day on the way to the office. See more here

I wandered down to it and of course spotted a tiny hole and being a boy at heart I had to look through it. Hence the blip.

I then found a way in, strangely desolate and a little bit spooky as all the road noise stopped at the exact moment I went it, open to the blue sky with the odd ird flying overhead it is strange to think that the fuel in these tanks would have cause terror and destruction..
