GIVING THANKS
Thanksgiving Day 2010. This photo shows (l to r) my son, my son-in-law, and myself working on the Thanksgiving dinner. In our family, the guys do all the cooking and the cleanup. I have always done the cooking since my wife and I got married. I love to cook and most of all, enjoy food. My son-in-law, John, took cooking classes at a local school and shares our love of food and cooking.
We had two turkeys--one roasted, one grilled--a huge bowl of mashed potatoes, yams, corn, green beans, cranberry Jello salad, cranberry sauce, all sorts of pickles, olives, and other relishes, hot rolls fresh out of the oven, and, thanks to John, 12 pies. All in all, it was one heck of a feast. Lots of work, but lots of fun, and the upside is I don't have to cook for a week now.
Exhausted now, I give thanks for all I have and for all my blessings--especially for a wonderful family and good times like these.
