Marriage Conference

This morning Gary and I went to Landon's Town Hall performance at school. It was his classroom's turn to be on stage. They were 'advertising' their classroom's college that they represent....Boston College. The teacher showed a few slides from the college and then each kindergartener said "I want to go to college to become a ......" There were some funny ones out of the mouths of the babes. One said "I want to go to college to become a princess." One said "I want to go to college to become a worker." One said "I want to go to college to become a movie star", and so on. LANDON SAID "I WANT TO GO TO COLLEGE TO BECOME A POLICE OFFICER". He said it in his best man-voice impression and hammed it up on stage.

Then we said our goodbyes and headed to Pacific Grove/Monterey for our church's Marriage Conference. I had packed all day yesterday and delivered the 3 different boys bags to 3 different locations. We were blessed enough to find friends houses for each of the boys to go to for the weekend. Even found a 4th house for the puppy....Nana and Papa's house! I had bought Scout a puppy care package (a.k.a. half of the rawhides at the Dollar Tree store) to try to keep him busy chewing on the right things instead of the wrong things. It was bittersweet leaving the day Loren was coming back from Science Camp, but I knew he wouldn't mind since he was getting to spend the weekend with one of his best pals.

We made it to Pacific Grove in time for Gary's 1 o'clock tee time with his guy friends. They golfed and I had lunch at the golf course with friends. Then we checked out where we were staying. They did a great job picking a location....it was a beautiful place. The golf course and Inn was across the street from the ocean. It rained a little bit on us, but didn't spoil the environment :D The first session started at 7 o'clock after dinner. They played a fun 'ice breaker' M&M game and continued with the session. We ended around 9:00 and headed over to friends room for a game of cards. I had no idea what I was doing but somehow ended up tying for 1st place. Must have been the good advisor in my ear since I've never been much of a card player.
