Sur le Banc
A back blip to Saturday. A free day that was a complete gift. I was supposed to be in the Gulf Islands but a wicked storm on Friday night prevented my getting there. I did set out on the ferry in gale force winds and snow. However, as luck would have it, the ferry terminal that was my destination, closed. The boat was able to make the rest of its stops inside the islands where the terminals are more sheltered. We rode it out and waited until the boat had finished its run and could take those of us who were stranded back to the Mainland. It was almost 11PM when we docked and drove off the ferry to blizzard conditions. The cars crept along at 30Km/hr as the snow drove into the headlights. It got better towards Vancouver but it was after midnight before I was safely home.
Despite the blizzard and high winds the night before, Saturday turned out to be clear and sunny although cold. Caught these last lovely leaves on a nearby bench. Love the way their stems are standing straight up. The last of fall before our winter sets in I imagine.
