Wet Feet

Wet Feet

Last nights Vivaldi concert was superb - just thought I would let you know.

This morning the tide was even higher in San Marco Square when I went out and took my snaps.
By the time I headed back to the hotel I could not avoid getting wet feet - well, not without a long detour.

After breakfast SWMBO wanted to see the square under water - I don?t think she really believed just how underwater it gets. She does now.

We headed north on our perambulations and left the usual tourist routes to see the ?real? Venice with its small shops and bars.

What a wonderful place it is, but the population is shrinking and getting older (which will cause it to shrink even more). This is because of the high prices, lack of amenities and work. So the younger people are heading to the mainland.

More masks and glass productsbought today (just as well we brought an empty case) and quite a few miles walked.
