It Was A Big River
After the girls sleeping till 9 0'clock this morning (no that was not a typo miracles do happen and for the first time ever both the girls slept past 7am) we headed up to Golspie and the Big Burn for a walk.
It's a nice walk through woods along the side of a fast flowing burn leading to a waterfall at the end of a steep sided narrow valley. There is also quite a lot of wildlife to be seen, but with Abis whingeing acting like a sugar fuelled siren, any living creature within a four mile radius headed for the safety of higher ground. It's quite steep and narrow at points so we had Katy in the backpack. She was quite content for the most part but got a little cranky towards the end but with a few chocolate buttons and a stick to wave about (and wallop me with) she was entertained long enough for Abi to have a quick game of pooh sticks before heading home to get the dinner on.
