Sailing 2
Up early again this morning and back to the potato patch, another couple hours hoeing. Then off to sailing with a cold and wet southerly change forecast. Not unsurprisingly not too many people showed up.
But surprising however, the weather was OK. A little cold, but a good breeze, and no rain. Forecasters eh! Today's mission was tacking, learning to go upwind - an essential sailing skill.
Then home, and back to the patch, 2 more hours and it was done - what a mission. But I now have a 30sq m patch, some already in yams, spuds soon to go in and probably cord, water melons and rock melons. It's going to be an interesting experiment.
If it goes well we can expand the plot next year. Hopefully the neighbour (whose land it is) won't mind ;-)
BTW, CHC locals will recognise the building in Ferrymead. Too bad it didn't sink into the mud with the earthquake. And of interest, 2 decent quakes in the last 24 hrs, 4.7 and 4.9, just when we were starting to think they were over.
Lastly, I am not a fan of selective b/w like this, however it just seemed right given the austerity of the building.
