Touch the Sky
This is an old tree that has been overtaken by the huge sand dunes on the ocean side of Cumberland Island, the largest island on the Georgia coast. Once a huge cotton plantation, the island was later purchased by the Carnegie family as a winter retreat. It's mostly owned by the National Park Service now, although the remains of several of the Carnegie mansions are still there, as well as a few homes that still serve as private residences.
It's a beautiful place, still mostly an undisturbed wilderness of live oaks, spanish moss and palmettos.
A few more shots of the island:
Marsh (I almost posted this one here, instead of the tree.)
Sandstorm
Dungeness (Carnegie ruin)
Plum Orchard (another Carnegie mansion)
