Town by the river
The day began with a 4 hour class from 8 to 12 in the morning. The class was about - at least in my opinion - some reasonably sophisticated probability applications and their inferences. After the class ended we were fairly exhausted after the steady flow of abstruse abstract concepts.
One of our classmates had recently got a car - so we drove to this nearby town called Pontoise which has a decidedly old world charm about it. An adequate and cheap lunch at a Thailandese/Vietnamese restaurant served to both recharge and satisfy us.
While driving back to our place our friend - quite taken by the pleasures of driving in the French countryside - asked us if we were in a mood for exploration. Thus began a short but fairly enjoyable ride till we arrived at Conflans St Honorine - a small town which was by the river.
Despite the gloomy weather the town seemed quite welcoming and we walked around for a while. Taking photos on the iphone isn't really a satisfying experience but does offer some form of substitute.
