Banana slug
These little guys start creeping out from beneath the leaf litter after the first rain. They like damp weather, and they search for their favorite foods, like fungi. A banana slug is a gastropod, which means "stomach foot". They slide through the forest on their stomachs, and use the slime they produce to stick to trees and rocks. They also follow their own slime trails to find their ways around. They're sure different from us... but lots of fun!
