The (not so) quiet life

Power of Love

The power was due to be off all day today as they are logging up the road and had to remove some trees without getting electrocuted. This wasn't really going to be particularly convenient with 6 small children so we de-camped and headed fo Playzone instead. The last time we were here it was during the school holidays and I can honestly say it was hell on earth. Hundreds of badly behaved children surfing a sugar high whilst their parents sat nursing a coffee praying their two hours would be up soon and pretending not to notice their little darling was attempting to drown another toddler in the ball pool. However on a Tuesday morning it is a different story. They had the place entirely to themselves for the first half hour and when it did fill up it was with children of a similar age who didn't seem intent on maiming anyone smaller than them in their rush to the big slide. In fact it was even quiet enough that me and Linsey got a few shots down the slide and go in the ball pool. Purely to help the little ones obviously.

After that it was off for some lunch where all six of them sat nicely and ate what was on their plate with minimum fuss (Katy and Ruairidh were both elbow deep in tomato pasta but at least they were quiet) and then a trip to the park and a walk before heading home to discover that the power didn't go off after all. Never mind. We did have a lovely day and we were very proud of how well behaved all the kids were. And it's not often I say that.
