British weather is odd; that's why we are so obsessed with it.

The extraordinary light that led me to this spot evaporated shortly before I could take my picture. The sun went behind a cloud and never came out again. Nevertheless the contrast with the picture I took of the same view a month ago is quite striking and might suggest that chronology is running the wrong way.
