we stopped to take photos of the wild dogs - not something even the locals see every day - and ended up with tsetse flies in the car. much smacking of legs and windows later, they were all dead and no-one was stung.

arrived at hippo lodge. greeted by the camp manager with the most amazing monobrow. warned not to walk round the camp at night without an armed escort...because of the lions....
