Morning catch.
Today we said goodbye to Grace and John as they set off to Sri Lanka for the next part of their journey. As we ate breakfast with them we watched the hundreds of fishermen, who go out every evening in their 12 men boats, hauling in their catch by hand. People then gather around them on the beach and buy the fish they need for the day and you can see women carrying large metal bowls of them, on their heads, back up from the beach.
When they are finished they sort out their nets ready for the next day and cover their boats with palm leaf thatched 'rooves'* to keep out the rain. They then sleep under the keel out of the sun till early evening when it is time to start all over again.
I could have watched this for hours - fascinating - but this was our last day at *Chowarra beach
