Looking West

This is one of the most photographed views of the village.

It is what you see when you descend off the Yorkshire Wolds from the East. The Vale of York stretches off into the distance. On a clearer day than this you can see over to the Pennines.

St Edith's Church dominates the landscape with its golden weathervane gleaming in the morning sunlight.

I attempted to capture this same view earlier in the week. But having walked up the hill I found my camera battery was dead. Still, it is all good exercise.
