To MP3 or not to MP3?

I read this week that Sony have ceased the manufacture of their cassette tape Walkmans. This encouraged me to unearth my Sony Walkman Professional.

I loved this machine, I still do!

I will keep it, of course. But my question is this: should I embrace the MP3 player age?

At the moment I only really listen to music in the car. I used to listen to cassettes on the move on a personal stereo but I never made the move to CDs and then to MP3s.

Help me out here! If you use an MP3 player does it enhance your life? What make and model would you recommend?

Oh, one last thing, I am averse to anything with an "i" in front of it!
