Black Bull

When I took this I was hoping to be in Dunbar to get some sunset shots...............but SWMBO , being SWMBO was running and hour or two late.

Needless to say I was too late.

This is the front of the Black Bull pub in Mid Calder which is well over 200 yeas old.
The board on the front says they don't know the origins of the name...........could it have something do do with the fact that Mid Calder was the major crossing point of the Almond river when herds were moved around central Scotland and is documented back to the 11th centuary?

They are doing well to keep the flowers going though
