Lemsford Springs
We were in Welwyn Garden City this afternoon, so took the opportunity to seek out Herts & Middlesex Wildlife Trust's reserve at Lemsford Springs and what a wee gem it turned out to be.
It's a former watercress farm which now provides open shallow lagoons beside a stretch of the River Lea. It's an attractive habitat for a lot of waterbirds. On our visit today the highlights were Green Sandpiper, Grey Wagtail and the above pictured Little Egret - we'll be back - and now that I'm back up to date in blipworld I'll get around to catching up on a few comments.
