Annoying the birds
Labour Day (Bank Holiday) weekend, and the sun was out, so I'm told all Kiwis would head for the beach, which means that they would be crowded. When in Rome and all that, so I followed, but when I got there I seemed to walk for miles on near empty beaches? I wouldn't call them crowded... Maybe it's a perspective kind of thing - these Kiwis need a lesson on filling beaches. Have none of them been to Camber Sands or Bournemouth on a hot and sunny day, when you have to be there by 7.00am to get your 2.5 square foot of sand? Either that or they have many, many more stunning beaches to choose from than us Brits...
What I did notice was that the car parks near the beaches (or most likely the boat ramps) were full, (believe me, really full, as far as the eye could see) with 4x4s with empty boat trailers. Maybe that's what going to the beach means - go to the beach, launch your boat and out to sea.
Anyway a bit hazy today and hard to get good landscapes, so spent the time chasing birds (the feathered kind dear, in case you were worried).
