More fun with a wedding dress
Well day 2 of the wedding dress transformation started off with everyone half asleep. Spent the morning in lectures, but with lunch time looming we all started to wake up slightly.
The dress had already started to have a slightly eerie feel to it, the colour had changed it dramatically and was looking like a completely different dress already. But when looking at it closer it was slightly too blue in places, so a bit of watering down and some grey/black colour added to it just made it pop. After doing this it was left (in a dark room ofc to add to the affect) to dry off, however it didn't last long, before we were all itching to start cutting it up a bit, and starting to change it. The train got cut off (for h&s reasons , long train and alcohol might not be a perfect combination) the collar come off and we all stood round humming and hawing about whether or not to cut all the lace layers off.
As of now the decision is to leave the lace, but a bit of nifty gathering and stitching will shorten it and leave it looking still very Victorian. Still a fair bit to be done to it, with lots of changes and alterations to come, but so far I'm more impressed by how this solo project has turned into a mass group project with both students and lecturers getting involved at various stages!
Maybe I could do costume design after all?!?
