Monster Banks
Wednesdays are always busy days. Took grandma on her errands. While she was at her hair appointment...I was on a mission to get some things I needed and to find them at the thrift store, regardless of how I was feeling. In 45 minutes at the store I was able to find Loren 5 pairs of uniform pants, hippie glasses, tie die shirt, vest and jeans for his halloween costume, 2 pairs of jeans for Landon, twist-up crayons for Landon's homework and a piece of autumn decor ALL FOR ONLY $30.00. SCOOOOORE! There was only one thing I couldn't find that I wanted to get.....a Harry Potter tie for Liam's costume after looking through tons of ties....guess I'll be heading to the party store for that one. I never thought I'd be in the men's section getting an old leather vest, but with some fringes sewn on, it will make a perfect hippie vest.
After dropping Grandma back off, I picked up Landon at 12:30, Loren at 12:50 and Liam at 1:30 from music classes! Taxi mom then took the kiddos for an after-school treat/playdate at Del Taco to have some down time before homework and soccer. It was nice to have some chat time with Linda.
Tonight after soccer and small group I came home to find the boys already asleep in bed. I realized I didn't get my 'blip' photo for the day, but in turning to leave their room I saw the boys monster banks smiling at me. Yes, I said monster banks. The good ole' piggy banks have been replaced by monsters. Last Christmas they received 'paint your own bank' kits from us. Liam's is the one on the right. Gary painted the one on the left for Landon (the one with the Last Airbender markings (-:) Last, but not least, you can guess that the front one was 'painted' by Landon at age 4. I'm not remembering Loren wanting to have one last year...so he must have wanted something else instead. They make me laugh whenever I see them.
