Washed out...

Burst water main the other night - despite all precautions it seems to have done for the dishwasher. Had to call in plumber to check it out after customer services were about as helpful as a kick in the teeth. Needless to say the plumber found nothing, so on top of paying his bill, I have to pay a ridiculous £85 call out charge to get the NEFF engineer to look at it. Love the disclaimer too - they don't guarantee to fix it....

Sigh....

The old one that I threw out had worked consistently for over 15 years. The only problem we had with it was the time when the mice chewed their way through the waste pipe... sorted with a bit of duck tape!

Other news; mum and dad up for a visit today. Didn't have things as well organised as I had hoped. Another appointment and lots of interruptions to answer the door, (birthday pressies arriving for the weekend) meant that it was all a bit too fraught. Hope they had a good day though. We certainly enjoyed the sausage rolls and the steak pie they brought! Ta mum and dad!
