More Leaves

Strange day. Hubby is still sick and my teenager sleeps until the early afternoon on weekends so I had the morning to myself.

So I took myself out to a coffee shop and sat and drank coffee slowly and wrote up my todo list then wandered off and spent some time browsing through shops. I bought was a beautiful environmentally safe non-stick frying pan to replace the corroded one which is no longer non stick and is probably not very healthy.

So there I was walking home with a big camera bag, my purse, a book bag and carrying the large, heavy frying pan by the handle so I didn't use up another useless bag.

I kept thinking, don't take more pictures, you have enough, but I could not pass by a back lit tree with its red leaves glowing and lit up by the sun. It was stunning, drop-dead gorgeous.

It's not easy taking pictures with one hand (I've got a DSLR with a big macro lens) and balancing camera bag, purse, books and frying pan with the other. But I managed somewhat.

The colours around me are so intense it almost hurts. I thought of a formula:

colour + light = happiness

The rest of the day was more mundane, spent in the car driving to pick up my camera (yahoo, it's fixed) and doing yet more errands. At least the day has finished with quality time with my sick hubby, Thai food and Top Chef on TV.

Now to sleep.
