Anyway, I took this on a rare lunchtime break from the challenge of editing sports pages - a one-off secondment to cover for a severe staffing shortage.
I say sports, but in our part of the world that can mean acres of material about skittles, with its 'beavers', 'flatners' and 'strikes'. Completely baffling, but it seems the majority of our readership just love it.

Well, it's the weekend. It's been a depressing past few days. The bad news of yesterday has, unfortunately, got worse, my dad's also got new health problems and then today there were the deaths of Malcolm Allison and Simon MacCorkindale.
Let's hope there's good news round the corner.
