Throughout the year we have had problems with the watering system in the Community. It is 10 years old and has started to develp leaks. The pipe work that leads to the shower system has been a major cause of concern as it has transpired that the roots of the three large palm trees have grown round the pipes which has resulted in the pipes bursting and leaking serious amounts of water.

The President (Jurgen) should have sorted the problem out as soon as it was discovered, but no, he decided to get estimates and wait until the AGM at the end of September then we all had to vote on whether he could spend the 900 euros it would cost to repair the system. The fact that the water leakage has caused us to spend more than this over the summer in wasted water did not occur to him. The community voted in favour (naturally) of repairing the water system.

It is 3 weeks since the AGM and nothing had happened, but today we came home from our golf club lunch to find Jurgen clearing the stones by the palm trees, he wasn't using a spade, he was using a small dustpan and brush!! Because he can't speak English or Spanish we cannot ascertain whether he is going to do the repair himself or he has a firm coming in and he has been doing the preparatory work. It speaks volumes that his german compatriates voted him in as President and yet when he needs help they all disappear, we just refuse to help him on principle.
