Making a splash

These are the fountains in Piccadilly Gardens, in Manchester. Livesofus took an amazing shot here a month or so ago, when there was still heat enough to encourage small, reckless peeps to get in. There were no such shenanigans today...

The light was amazing though, it lit the water up so beautifully. I had ventured into town in my lunchtime ostensibly to get a Birthday present for my Grandad but I spent a happy 10 minutes here instead. That meant I had to rush into the nearest shop (actually in Piccadilly Gardens) in a frantic effort to procure a suitable gift. I ended up with a fairtrade recycled tin can aeroplane.... I know.... fortunately he really likes planes...I'm trusting you all not to spoil the surprise!
