Trip 10s

In an obvious homage to today's unique date, I opted to photograph these oversize playing cards that were centerpieces for a neighbor's birthday party.

Our friend turned 78 today and had been looking forward to this party, on this date, for over 68 years. At her 10th birthday party way back on October 10th, 1942, she decided that she wanted to have a big celebration when her birthday fell on 10/10/10. Her daughter and son-in-law put on a great party and we all had a great time celebrating this wonderful woman's life.
