Reading Margot

Just starting reading "Breaking Ties". This is the second of four books by Margot Palmgren, who is becoming a pen pal.

'Analeise' is Margot's first book about a girl growing up in wartime Germany. Chapter one is 'Chrystalnacht" in which the eight year old girl hurries home past a burning Synagogue. It continues through the horrifying Hitler years and tells of how the family survives through WWII. It is a gripping story, well told and easy to read.

This book is about breaking ties with the old country as she moves to America with her soldier husband and learns new ways.

We originally became acquainted with Margot's daughter who sent "Analiese" to us. Then there was correspondence about my favorable review. This continued to a purchase of "Breaking Ties" and thank you notes.

I recommend "Analiese" by Margot Palmgren.
