How Gene saved the day

I woke up this morning to an officially deceased refrigerator. It had been slowly giving up the ghost in the last two days but we thought some TLC would take care of it.
Not so much.
*weeps*

It seems only logical something like this would happen on the warmest autumn day ever, so we can't even store things outside.

So instead of going into nature, we went into K'zoo to see if we could wrestle up a cheap new one.

We found a nice Frigidaire for a reasonable amount (which we still can't really afford, but what do you do without a fridge if it's 80F/26C outside?) AND they were so kind as to come deliver it tomorrow. I love you, Lowe's!

On the way back I said the only thing that could save this weekend (because now we have to stay home tomorrow for the delivery as well) was to stop at Gene the Pumpkinman.
So we did.

And here he is!

It was massively busy, as it always is. We looked at the gourds, the rows and rows of pumpkins, the orange house, orange stable, truck, car ... well, you get the idea :)

He told us he had just learned to use a computer ("Yesterday I learned how to turn it on, tomorrow I might learn how to turn it off") and how he searches for himself on the 'net. At that point I held up my camera and said:"Well, you might get lucky tonight!" I made sure I tag this Blip right so he can easily find himself.

53 Years of being The Pumpkinman, and still going strong in all his Orange Glory.
It's such a joy to visit you, Gene, we'll be back for more soon. With cash :)
