Tidy sunflowers

We went up to the allotment this afternoon and put in a couple of hours hard labour. First time I've been able to get up there for about three weeks - even though we're at into autumn there's still plenty of weeds and grass growing. DH harvested a huge pile of spuds even though the soil was pretty damp (there being little chance of it not being pretty damp or worse) and I dug up a section of Langport Wren corm for L, sowed some green manure and tried to tidy the shed.

I took a few photos of the allotment but when I downloaded them I was horrified at how overgrown and scruffy it looked (and that was after the four person-hours work). So to save having to look at it on blip as well as in real life I've just snapped the lovely bunch of sunflowers are looming over my laptop. DH got them for me yesterday, possibly to reward me for my bravery in going shopping - thanks, zoetje.
