A green shoot
After a productive visit to the Farmers Market I was encouraged to go to a couple of shops (aaargh!) in order to purchase a new pair of jeans (I've got one pair to wash and one to wear, what more is there?) and a new pair of shoes (for heavens sake, the old ones haven't even worn out yet!). I was quite brave until DH started suggesting that I go further and buy a T-shirt without writing on it, for best. I had to make my excuses and leave. I think it's a genetic defect.
The day was much improved when I jumped off the bus at Pilrig in order to go to Scotmid (a plague on Tesco and all its works) and bumped into another blipper whom I hadn't seen for ages. V nice to see SB and I stocked up on Fairtrade Indian Prince teabags - result!
The green shoot is courtesy of an orchid that has been languishing (I thought) on the kitchen windowsill for years, looking in imminent danger of demise. It's been about 5 years since it bloomed. But look what I found - I think it's the start of a flower spike. That's the little green shoot on the right, in front of the leaves; as opposed to the slightly scary looking thing coming towards the camera which is (I hope) just an aerial root......
