Political party on Broad Street

Today is the first day of the Conservative Party Conference and the centre of Birmingham is a police state. We were just innocently passing by on our way to see the Steve McCurry exhibition (breathtaking), when police appeared from every corner. I thought perhaps they had finally realised it was time to arrest the chef at "Around the World in 80 Dishes", but no, there was a demonstration about public sector cuts.
