Marjorie's ramblings

The white horse

Back home after an excellent walking weekend based in Patterdale, (back blips when I have a few minutes to sort them). Today was another day of walking, this time a pre-walk for Haltwhistle Walking Festival. J and V and I checked the route for the Steel Rigg Circular.

This is a 7+ mile walk, all north of Hadrian's Wall, with stunning views. Well, we know there are stunning views, but today the mist was down and it rained. There were one or two brighter spells as at this moment when the white horse stood and watched us go by very solemnly. Behind her you can see the edge of Greenlee Lough.

That was the best I could manage today. We enjoyed our walk in the rain and I hope we have a clearer day for the walkers who come with us in the Festival (October 9th - 17th, and yes, I do the publicity for it!!!)
